Prescott Bus Trip

On Thursday, July 11, 2013 the West Valley Genealogical Society will host a fund-raiser bus trip for members and non-members on a day of fun beneath the cool pines of Prescott, AZ.

Cost is $65 per person, which includes:
Round trip transportation in an air-conditioned, fully equipped luxury tour bus, admission to Sharlot Hall Museum, cowboy-style BBQ dinner at Prescott's famous Palace Restaurant & Saloon, and the bus driver gratuity.

The bus leaves Bell Rec Center in Sun City, 99th Ave & Bell Road, at 8:00 am.

In Prescott, the bus drops us off at either Bucky's Casino or downtown on Whiskey Row, whichever you prefer. You'll have the day to yourself to sightsee, shop, have lunch, enjoy the casino, visit the museum or any of the other attractions in Prescott that interest you.

Bus picks us up about 4:00 and takes us to dinner at the Palace.

Just return the reservation form to the WVGS Library, along with your
check for $65 per person. Cancellations are refundable until June 27.

WASHINGTON D.C. RESEARCH TRIP

The West Valley Genealogical Society organizes a trip to Washington DC each year at the end of November/December for research at the Library of Congress, Daughters of the American Revolution, and National Archives.

WVGS Full Day Seminar - Saturday, February 23, 2013

J. Mark Lowe, a Certified Genealogist, author and lecturer. will appear from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at
Lakeview United Methodist Church- Smoot Hall, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City AZ.

Mr. Lowe's program will include:
"Cheap Land on the Prairie" (or That's What the Railroad Man Said);

Tennessee, The Road to the West;

Constructing an Ancestor: Mortgages, Trust Deeds and Personal Agreements;

Finding Your Landless Ancestors.

Registration fee of $45 includes: Program, Contint'l Breakfast, Box Lunch, Beverages and Prizes.
Lunch choices are Chicken Walnut or Roast Beef Sandwich OR
a Salad: Roasted Chicken Caesar or Crumbly Bleu Cheese
Plus, Vendors Featuring Genealogical Books and Items, and Great Prizes.

Lunch with your Favorite Ancestors

Bring your favorite photo, story, heirloom, etc. Monday, February 25, 2013, 11 am to 1 pm at the 5 & Diner, 11340 W Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ ( on Bell between Sun City and Sun City West)
Cost is $5 ticket - we are limiting to 20 persons.
Lunch is ORDER OFF the MENU - YOU PAY for Lunch, drink and tip on your own.

WVGS Salt Lake City Trip

The Salt Lake City trip was held March 12-20, 2013. The arrangements included, flight, hotel, shuttle bus for eight nights in Salt Lake City.
