WVGS Classes/Workshops


To help you with your Genealogy, we offer a variety of basic-advanced Genealogy related classes/workshops.  Sessions are held in our Library in our Traditional classroom and our New PC classroom. We cover the ins and outs of Genealogy, Genealogy Libraries, Genealogy Computer Programs, Technology Aids, Preserving Memories and Photos.

NOVICE GENEALOGY


This class will focus on the first steps needed to get you started on your research. No prior knowledge is necessary. There will be a new class the 3rd Friday of each month.


Friday, 1-3:30 PM, every 3rd Friday unless noted.

This course will prep you for the upcoming visit to SLC. You will receive an overview of the Family History Library, tips on how to set research objectives and organize your materials.

This course is a continuation of Research Tchniques I. This class will include a more in depth analysis of; vital records, census, cemeteries, maps, computer and internet sources, libraries and much more.

Course includes entire program(former classes were split into two parts). It is primarily intended for beginners and for users who need a refresher or have specific questions about the program.
